Tools of SEO ("we", "us") respects visitor privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.
Measurement choices
The site works without optional analytics or advertising measurement. We ask before loading Google Analytics, Google Ads tags, or a configured Meta Pixel. Analytics and advertising are separate choices. If you reject measurement, those tags are not loaded and affiliate links still work. We honor a browser Global Privacy Control signal by keeping advertising measurement off. You can reopen the choice panel at any time using the button below.
Analytics and advertising measurement
After you accept measurement, Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads may receive
pages viewed, referrer, approximate location, device/browser information, and
campaign identifiers. When a Meta Pixel is configured, Meta may receive page
views and set or read Meta measurement cookies such as _fbp and
_fbc. Google and Meta process that data under their own privacy terms.
Affiliate click and commission attribution
When you click an outbound link beginning with /go/, our edge
service records the destination slug, an opaque random click ID, the source
page, allowlisted campaign parameters, coarse Cloudflare location metadata,
and salted hashes of the IP address and user agent. We do not store raw IP
addresses or raw user-agent strings in the affiliate click record.
If you accepted measurement, the click record may also include Meta's
_fbp and _fbc values so a later affiliate commission
can be joined to the original click. The opaque click ID may be passed to the
affiliate provider as a SubID. The destination affiliate provider may set its
own cookies under its policy after you leave Tools of SEO.
For participating programs, a provider may notify us when a commissionable payment occurs. We store only allowlisted financial-event fields, such as the opaque click ID, provider event ID, commission amount, currency, and receipt time. We do not intentionally retain raw provider postback bodies or customer profile data. When separately enabled and permitted, a server-side event may send Meta the commission value and matching data connected to the consented click. This system is disabled until its release and account gates are passed.
Retention and security
Affiliate click matching records are designed to expire after 180 days. Financial and delivery records may be retained longer for reconciliation, fraud prevention, accounting, and dispute handling. Access is restricted to trusted server-side systems. Postback endpoints use unguessable credentials, strict field allowlists, idempotency controls, and do not accept public database writes.
Email collection
If you submit an email signup form, we collect your email address, the page where you signed up, referrer/UTM data when available, and basic anti-abuse metadata. We use this to send the requested checklist or related Tools of SEO updates and to understand which pages produce useful subscribers.
Email subscriber data may be sent to Encharge, our email/marketing automation provider. You can unsubscribe from email messages at any time.
Contact
For privacy questions or requests concerning your data, use the contact details on the about page. We may need enough information to locate the relevant record without exposing another person's data.
